Southern California LIBRARIES

telnet, dial-up, and World Wide Web addresses

This page may contain information about dial-up OPACs which is not available elsewhere in one location on the Web.  However, for a more current list, you may be better off starting with http://www.redondo.org/depts/library/local_libraries.asp

You can search a large database listing several thousand libraries at http://www.librarytechnology.org/libwebcats/  (although you may only find an address and a phone number, not necessarily online access details).

telnet URLs are given in the form telnet://loginName:password@host. Depending on what telnet helper application you are using, you will probably have to type in the loginName and password manually.

Unless otherwise stated, all phone numbers listed here are modems for OPAC access, not humans. The telnet and dial-up addresses have not been tested since approx. 1996, so it is likely that many no longer are available. However, most libraries now have web-based catalogs available.
