You should now be on Michael Lane. Follow Michael 1/2 mile uphill to the fire road entrance and park along the street. This is a residential neighborhood--please be quiet and courteous.

Description: This hike is all on a dirt fireroad. Trailer Canyon Fireroad starts out heading north, then turns east climbing all the way. As we ascend views of Pacific Palisades, including the neighborhood where the cars are, improve. Eventually we will intersect the Topanga Ridge Fireroad, which runs north-and-south all the way from Mulholland Dr. to Sunset Blvd. near Temescal Canyon. Once on Topanga Ridge Fireroad we will walk north about 1/2 mile to a point overlooking both West L.A. and Santa Monica, and the San Fernando Valley. We will return to the cars the same way.
For those who have been on the Sullivan Ridge fireroad we will be about two ridges farther west.
Topanga Ridge Fireroad is a way of entering Topanga State Park from the back side.
RSVP: If there is interest we will meet for a pre-hike meal somewhere in West L.A. or Santa Monica. Suggestions are welcome. Also, we may go to Santa Monica afterwards to take in the street scene.
