1958-1959, Pre-primary:
In 1958-1959, it was called Pre-primary or Beginners, not kindergarten. It was for
everybody; it was not any sort of "advanced placement". We actually
learned to read the Houghton-Mifflin series: Tip, Tip and Mitten, Jack
and Janet, The Big Show, ... Unfortunately, the same program was
repeated in first grade.
