OVERVIEW: We’ll hike during night time to the flats. We’ll have dinner at the top. The flats offer scenic view of east San Gabriel valley. It is a moderate hike 5.5 miles round trip, 1300 feet elevation gain.

WHEN: Saturday night September/16 6:30 PM

WHERE: Trail head is 2260 PineCrest at Alta Dena. Take Frwy 210 east and get off Sierra Madre exit, drive towards the mountains, you are now on Alta Dena drive. Pass Washington and NY streets and turn left on Crescent Drive. Pinecrest viers from Crescent Drive. Thomas Guide book page 20 F4

BRING: Lugged sole boots or tennis shoes. One quart of water (there is water on the top) and of course flash light!!!.

Bring dinner. There are picnic tables, Bar-B-Que facilities and water on top.

The gate may be closed at sunset in which case we have to enter and leave via McCarthy Nature Center on Alta Dena drive north of NY drive.
